Summer Movies In The Park

Our pre-movie fundraiser starts at 5 PM and will include music, food, a Kid Zone, Silent Auction, movie snacks, & more.  Please mark your calendar, join the fun and invite your families, friends and neighbors to support our Service Project, Sienna’s PlayGarden.

Encinitas Lions Club 20th Annual Blind Surfing Event at Ponto Beach

Thank you Encinitas Lions for this service opportunity. Count on volunteers from Live Well San Diego Lions Club whenever you do this event!

San Diego’s sight impaired had the opportunity to experience Ponto Beach waves and its shore from a surfer’s viewpoint.
Blind Surfing Event 13
Blind and sight impaired participants are given instruction and then assisted into the water by local surfing instructors and Lion volunteers as they challenge themselves to balance atop surfboards.

Greetings Live Well San Diego Lions… Call for volunteers!

One of our Charter members, Jennifer Palkovic, is hosting a fundraiser in memory of her daughter: “Strides for Sienna,” benefitting the Rolling Hills Park Playground Project… Sunday, September 7, 7AM, Road Runner Sports, 5553 Copley Drive, San Diego, CA, 92111

Jennifer reached out to Live Well San Diego Lions seeking our help in the following areas:

*SETUP (3 more volunteers) 6:15 AM-7:30 AM

*COURSE MARSHALS (2-4 more volunteers) 7:30-10:30 AM

*KID ZONE (2 more volunteers) 7:00 AM-10:30 AM

Registered runners/walkers will start and finish the 3.1 mile course at Road Runner. The event will include a Kid Zone, refreshments, music and a closing ceremony.

We expect it to be finished by 11 AM. “Strides for Sienna” will benefit the Rolling Hills Park Playground Project in Sienna’s memory.

South Ponto Beach, Encinitas, CA
Sunday, September 14th 9 AM – 2 PM. Blind Surfing Event @ South Ponto Beach, Encinitas, CA. The Encinitas Lions Club hosts their 18th annual Blind Surfing Event. Sight impaired guests will be treated to a BBQ lunch and instructed to surf by Encinitas Lions and professional surfing instructors. The Club expects approximately 150 sight impaired guests and volunteers. Please contact paulmceneany@aol.com to help in the following areas: Surf Crew – Each Surfer requires a crew of 6-8 helpers, chasers/catchers, staged in the water along the surf route. Set – up @ 8:00 AM Escorts – Help sight impaired guests off buses @ 9:00 AM Servers – Encinitas Lions cook the BBQ, but need servers to take orders and carry food to the sight impaired. Cleanup and take down.
